My own little coping mechanisms…

What are some peoples coping mechanisms during the darkest of times? I know the things I do won’t necessarily help anyone but a few things keep me fighting.

Music does help me but it can also topple me if a particular song comes on. I actually listen to more podcasts these days, specifically comedy ones. I have had a bad night before where I can be in floods of tears and a dumb podcast I’m listening to just catches me off guard and makes me laugh through it. Though I listen to some absolutely insane and gross comedy podcasts 😂

You might have seen my artwork which helps me more so than anything, I’ve mentioned a few times here about my story.

There was a point in my life where I didn’t look forward to anything, more so social situations and seeing people.l but I’m really into movies and the creative process behind them so I try to focus on an upcoming movie even if it’s years off coming out. No matter how bad I feel and how stupid it sounds having a thought like “I need to keep going because there’s a new Spider-Man or Star Wars film on the horizon” has helped.

I try not to hate anything, I see lots of posts online of people talking about things they hate or despise, music, films, tv etc. I don’t waste my energy talking about things I don’t enjoy and focus on the things I love and enjoy.

There’s so many more that spring to mind but I’m already dangerously close to rambling 😂

I’d love to hear if anyone else has any coping mechanisms no matter what they are or if you think they’re silly. Hope you’re all feeling great today, sending love 💛💛💛
