How Podcasts helped save me...

In 2017 I started listening to a Podcast group called Sanspants Radio, who have a number of downloadable podcasts with one in particular “Plumbing the death star”, it completely spoke my language, comic book and movie themed with absolutely gross out humour and crazy scenarios. I remember going to bed at 8pm just to hide away, I would lay there listening to the entire back catalogue of Sanpants Podcasts, finding myself crying with laughter at Dnd is for nerds , shut up a second and Plumbing the Death Star in particular.

A lot of these Podcasts come with their own Facebook groups, the Sanspants page has over 3000 like minded members who are always sharing amazing and often hilarious stories, it truly is a provaledge to be part of something like this

Along with these I found other comedy podcasts which i listen to regularly whilst drawing my work. These include The Dollop, The Weekly Planet, Do Go On and various others.

Listening to these regularly never fails to bring a smile to my face and I find myself laughing no matter what mood I’m in. I look forward to new episodes and have since gone to see live shows whilst they’ve been on Uk tours, I even got to meet my hero and you can see how happy I was in this moment. Literally beaming! (That’s me on the right).

How I deal with anxiety and depression unfortunately doesn’t work for all but hope you get some inspiration from these words.

Much love to you all

James
